Movies are subject to licensing laws. Pendleton YardFLIX cannot directly profit from the showing of a movie unless we purchase licensing in our name, which is an expense we would have to pass on to the customer. Therefore, we are a cinema equipment rental company. When you use our service, you are renting the equipment and our staff time to set up, operate, and take away the equipment. You must provide your own DVD/Blu-ray, or sign-on to your own movie streaming service. We do not provide the media.

Similarly, Pendleton YardFLIX’s core business is renting cinema equipment for private, friends-and-family-only events within the property boundaries where the customer resides, where special licensing is not needed. Movies shown in spaces that are open to the public require public performance licenses. For example, Pendleton Parks and Recreation hosts a summer movie series, and they purchase a license for each showing.

Pendleton YardFLIX will consider public events, but only with proper licensing. Please contact us if you are interested in such an event.
